It’s simple, Torches are not forever! Burning Torches Mod 1.16.3/1.15.2 adds fresh torches to the game which burn out over time, Gone are the days of put it and forget it! As they burn out you can prolong the life by using coal or planks (by default) on the flashlight. Otherwise, you can use an empty bucket (by default) on the flashlight to put it outside so it won’t burn up when its not necessary. They can easily be lit with a flint and steel (by default).
