Caves And Dungeons Mod 1.12.2 adds ten structures that spawn in the overworld and one that spawns in the nether. All of these structures spawn underground in order to make mining and underground exploration a generally more interesting experience.

Features:

Added structures:

  • 1. Mushroom Cavern consists of mushroom trees and a mushroom witch hut.
  • 2. The Lost Blacksmith is a small building that has sunk deep into the earth. It contains a single blacksmith villager
  • 3. Miner’s Delight is a lava cavern full of rare ores.
  • 4. The Bedrock maze is a place found near bedrock. It has rare loot is you can make your way through it.
  • 5. The Forgotten Library is a medium sized dungeon with skeletons and zombies in it.
  • 6. A Tiny Bit Of Nether is a larger dungeon with blazes and a half broken nether portal.
  • 7. “What A Minecraft Dungeon Should Be” is a medium sized dungeon with several chests, spawners, and traps.
  • 8. Ancient Tomb is a small structure with some good loot in it.
  • 9. “Not A Trap” is not a trap.
  • 10. Improved Dungeon is a normal Minecraft dungeon but with extra rooms and more chests.
  • 11. Nether Tower is a nether brick tower that spawns in the sea of lava the covers the bottom of the nether.

How to install:

  1. Make sure you have already installed Minecraft Forge.
  2. Locate the minecraft application folder.
    • On windows open Run from the start menu, type %appdata% and click Run.
    • On mac open finder, hold down ALT and click Go then Library in the top menu bar. Open the folder Application Support and look for Minecraft.
  3. Place the mod you have just downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods folder.
  4. When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the mod is installed.
