Genesis of Desolation Mod 1.12.2 adds a new desert dimension consisting of mostly flatlands and mountains.

Features:

Desert dimension
Ruins containing loot pots
Cobalt Ore (+ tools & armour)
Caves & web caves (with cave spiders)
Overworld portal structure
Sun flare event (Flares will strike the world – you had better hide underground)
Custom music – 1 track (by me!)
A fair bit of lag
Various dimension-exclusive biomes
- Arid Flats
- Arid Peaks
- Boulder Field
- Dried Lake
- Spikelands
- Oasis (& shore)

To get to the dimension you will need to find a portal structure in the overworld desert. Don’t break the blocks around the portal or it will be destroyed! To get back to the overworld you will need to find an underground portal structure in the dimension.

Minecraft Forge

How to install:

Make sure you have already installed Minecraft Forge.
Locate the minecraft application folder.
- On windows open Run from the start menu, type %appdata% and click Run.
- On mac open finder, hold down ALT and click Go then Library in the top menu bar. Open the folder Application Support and look for Minecraft.
Place the mod you have just downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods folder.
When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the mod is installed.
