The Upstream Mod (1.16.5), a river overhaul mod, removes vanilla river generation and creates new rivers that are endless and larger. This allows for more variety in water flow across Minecraft worlds. Minecraft’s majestic nature is always a draw for players. Mountains take on impressive shapes, while the vast forests of life and the incredible and bizarre oceans add to the game’s excitement. Rivers are boring, as they don’t offer danger or excitement. They can also be crossed easily and sometimes form borders between lands. Upstream Mod made it seem like the river was receiving more attention. The rivers were now created differently to their vanilla counterparts. They had smaller flows and rips, creating an even more unique experience. The mod is intended to improve the river’s appearance and feel natural, while still maintaining the vanilla feel.
